Webinar series: High Resolution Phenology and Productivity data for Urban Green, Mar 13, 2024 from 14.00 to 15.00 Time zone: Copenhagen, Denmark

The High Resolution Vegetation Phenology and Productivity (HR-VPP) product suite provides comprehensive information on vegetation status and dynamics.

In order to further facilitate the uptake of HR-VPP products, we are hosting a series of five thematic webinars that focus on how pan-European HR-VPP products can be used in different application areas. These webinars are open to all.

Each webinar will last one hour and include a live Q&A session. Following each event, the slides, Q&A, and a recording of the webinar will be uploaded to this page.

This fourth HR-VPP webinar will focus on the topic of urban green. Vegetation is a vital component of the urban environment and significantly contributes to the city's aesthetic appeal and the health of its citizens. Which parts of the city are the greenest? And how does access to green vegetation vary with the seasons? The HR-VPP phenological data, with a 10-metre resolution, provide comprehensive information on the location of green spaces and seasonal changes in vegetation, to support a variety of decisions related to urban planning and management.

The agenda includes the following points:

  • Short introduction to HR-VPP - Ludvig Forslund, EEA
  • Use Case presentation: Urban Green – Lars Eklundh, Lund University
  • Use Case presentation: Influence of urbanisation on vegetation phenology - Javier Galán Díaz, Universidad Complutense de Madrid
  • Discussion / Q&A – All
